Zionsville, IN – Every year with the beginning of school, the falling of leaves, and the ushering in of cool air, college towns across the country gear up for the return of tailgating. Bumper to bumper cars, trucks and mobile homes make their way into town. Fans set out to make this the “greatest tailgating season ever!” Not to be outdone by their neighbor, they look for the latest gadget or product that will make their tailgate party supreme. It’s no wonder the explosion of the tailgating market has grown into a $20 billion industry. Mark Van Zant, a Zionsville, IN resident is looking to tackle that industry. This week, his company Lightwerks, LLC, released a brand new backyard game called Tabletop-Football. Their unique patented tilted tabletop game has been carefully developed over the past 5 years and is now ready for “Game Day.” “We are really excited about this product launch”, says Mark. “This is only the beginning, as we have taken our original design and modified it to have interchangeable game tops.” Tabletop Football may be targeting the football community, and why not? Football is the most popular sport in America for the 30th consecutive year, according to the Harris Poll. Their new version of the game allows for interchangeable tops to now include: Basketball, Soccer, Golf and many more. “We see this as not only a football tailgating game, but a game for the entire family. It was important for us to develop something that could be expanded to allow for an endless number of game ideas, while utilizing the same patented technology of the tilting table,” shared Mark. One look at this new product and you will see why they have their sites set high. The entire table surface is mounted on a single axis point and held level by bungee supports beneath the table. Each game is played with either a golf ball or a ping pong ball that is maneuvered over the surface by tilting the entire table in all directions. Simply let go of the top and its self-leveling. The game folds in half and comes in a carrying bag that is about half the size of a Corn hole board. Making it very easy to transport to any event. The interchangeable tops fold and store in the carrying case with all of the other game pieces. Their marketing strategy says it all, “Cornhole Is Scared!” This fun and aspiring company is clearly going after their biggest rival, Cornhole. From hashtags, to T-shirts, Tabletop Football is not shying away from the industry leader of tailgating games. Calling out your opponent may not be the best thing to do on Game Day, but with this new kid on the block, confidence is not lacking. Time will tell who will ultimately be crowned tailgate king. “Our goal is to raise enough crowdfunding support to take this to the retail level”, says Mark. “Until now, we have been making them ourselves locally, but realize there is so much more we can do by mass producing the game.” Mark and his team have launched a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign that is seeking to raise $40,000 in initial capital for their endeavors. You can support them by ordering your very own Tabletop Football game at www.Tabletop-Football.com. The Kickstarter Campaign is scheduled to launch September 8th and run until October 8th.
